It's funny how you can prepare for something like a website, and still miss crucial elements. This blog was my first real project and I thought I'd planned it all well. I took time to fine-tune the concept, talked the designs over with my designer, spared no time and effort in making the templates and drove the programmer nuts with many little details. And when my blog went live, I thought I had it all covered.

And guess what, I completely missed the contact page.

Only after the blog launched I noticed the lack of a contact page, nor was there any visible contact information. At all. Although those unlucky enough to hit a 404 page could have noticed my email address, it's not customary to direct people to a 404 page when they want to contact the site owner. So I had to do something.

At one point I wondered whether people actually needed a contact form as they could already make use of the comment system. I quickly figured out that the use of both elements is quite different and could not be replaced by one another. A contact form is more private and personal, and has a wider range of subjects than a comment form can handle. A comment system should only be used to comment on a certain article, not to get unrelated messages across to the site owner.

As of today, this is fixed! I added a contact page with a little contact form. I also added my spam address so those who loath contact forms can still contact me (just don't expect me to react as quickly). So if you want to contact me, now you can. The link to the contact form can be found in the right column on both overview and article pages. Just don't spam, or I'll get mad.
