paris - day 3
sacre coeur
The famous Sacre Coeur, final resting place of Jeanne D'Arc. And like everything else in Paris, it involved steps getting there.
up the stair
From below it doesn't look all that high, but after taking a couple of stairs you'll quickly change your mind about that.
dali museum
Tucked away in the back alleys of the Montmartre is the Dali museum, dedicated not to his paintings but to his sketches and other work (like statues). You aren't allowed to take pictures but somehow this elephant landed on my camera.
louvre square
Even if you don't like the art inside (guilty as charged), the Louvre building and its inner square are impressive enough by themselves to warrant a little visit.
birds like the louvre
Lots of birds on the Louvre square too, taking some leisure time in the fountains around the main pyramid.
typical paris view
A very typical view of Paris. Everything is huge, conform and planned. Nothing at all like our little messy Antwerp.
louvre pyramid
A bottom view of the Louvre Pyramid, one of the coolest attractions in the Louvre, unless of course you like your classical arts.
venus of milo
It's a statue with broken arms, but at least I was able to take a pretty luxurious picture of it, with the gold and all.
old gaming devices
Found during the excavations of the Louvre square, these are old domino bricks and dices. Pretty cool to see how they already had them way way back.
statues
Many statues in the Louvre and not all of them were ugly. One of the nicest exhibits I encountered there.
ugc paris
Lots of little cinemas like this on the Champs Elysées. Good selection of films too, but Ricky was not subtitled and we already watched Slumdog and Button before, so The Wrestler it was.
hotel by night
And that's where our adventures of the third day ended.
