A pleasant youngster drama with some kids that don't fit the typical mold. It's a niche that has been steadily growing in Japan in recent years, no doubt a reaction to an almost infinite amount of indistinguishable high school dramas/romances. It's a good trend, but Colorless doesn't do quite enough to stand out.

Colorless offers a story about two kids trying to deal with life. Their struggles aren't major, there's nothing truly traumatic holding them back, even so, true happiness doesn't seem to be within their reach. The performances are good, the cinematography is solid (but familiar), and the soundtrack is fine. A good drama in other words, but it lacks that little extra.
