One of those films that presents itself as a genre film, but clearly aims to be a drama. Once Pearce has made the setup clear, the rest of the film is one big "fake or real" mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end. At least, if you're willing to go along with it, I didn't really care either way.

Malik is an ex-marine who lives separated from his wife and kids. One night he returns home and takes his kids with him, telling them they're going on a road trip. Malik believes alien parasites have invaded Earth and wants to protect his kids from the invaders, taking them to a hidden base.

The presentation is pretty slick, performances are strong and the pacing is on point. There's a good film hidden away here, I just didn't care much for the genre deception. This past decade a lot of films have tried similar things, and it never really works out. It's a shame, because Pearce shows lots of promise.
