Plot: Panja is an proud white lion who governs the African jungle with compassion for his fellow animals. He steals food from a nearby village, the villagers are frustrated and they hire a skilled hunter. The hunter captures Panji's pregnant wife, and he sends her off by boat.

A somewhat inconspicuous anime that rose to fame when its similarities to The Lion King started spreading on the web. And sure enough, the inspiration is not merely incidental, still, the two films are different enough to stand on their own. If only because Kimba is very dated by modern standards.
The animation quality is decent, but the art style lacks detail. Not too surprising, as this is a mere edit from the TV series. The plot is also rather basic, but at least the film is short and there aren't too many irritating side characters and lame musical interludes. Just keep your expectations in check.
