Plot: Ugly Kwan is one of the leading Triad members known to cause trouble within the Triad society. At a very young age, he was recruited by one of his former bosses and groomed to become a real gangster. All his life, he had to look out for people backstabbing him, so naturally, he started acting the same way.

The first Young and Dangerous spin-off, by far the most notorious and popular Triad series the Hong Kong movie industry produced. It features the origin story of Ugly Kwan, played by Francis Ng. Ng is an old favorite of mine and with this film, he is able to show a bit more range than usually the case.
The film will feel familiar, especially if you've seen some of the Y&D entries already. There's a strong focus on the younger years, how Kwan was recruited, and how he was groomed and trained to become a criminal. Expect some action, neon nightlife, and a little drama on the side. Fun, but not too special.
