Shimizu just keeps on churning out these films. It's not that they are terrible. Let Me Hear certainly has its moments, but there's nothing new and/or original here, and people who have any familiarity with Japanese horror cinema of the past two decades will feel a bit too comfortable watching this.

The plot is pretty basic, the performances are decent but nothing noteworthy, and the scares aren't all that scary anymore. Repetition and predictability detract from effectiveness, after all. I will say that the cinematography was slightly above par, but other than that, this felt a bit too safe to stand out from its peers. Still decent filler though.
