Not my cup of tea. A mix of drama and sports that reminded me quite a bit of Raging Bull. The rugby scenes are incredibly bland (and aren't the focus of the film), while the drama is crude, slow, and anything but charismatic. What remains is a very long film that never managed to grab my interest, let alone hold it.

Frank is a rugby star on the rise, but despite his success on the field, he isn't a very happy man. He feels empty inside and tries to hook up with his landlady to fill the void. It's an empty attempt to give a little meaning to his life, and as his relationship goes inevitably down the drain, Frank's negative spiral continues.

The performances were atrocious for a serious drama, the film felt overwrought and simplistic and the rugby matches were utterly boring. The direction was also very plain and uninteresting. I didn't enjoy this one single bit, then again, I didn't care much for a film like Raging Bull either, so I guess there's a pattern. Yuck.
