Simple but cute horror fun. Don't take this film too seriously, it's obvious that director Wright is going for a more cheesy, tongue-in-cheek kind of horror. He does well too, though the film is a tad long and the budget was probably a bit bigger than it should've been for this type of film.

After Maya and Jamie were attacked in their London home, they catch a break when Jamie's aunt dies and leaves them her home in the Irish countryside. They move up there to lead a more peaceful life, but local legend tells of the redcaps. Little people who haunt the forest and need daily feeding to keep away from humans.

The setting is nice, the comedy isn't too overt but is clearly present, and the film packs a punch when needed. It's a good 15 minutes too long though, and some of the setups are way too obvious, but if you're looking for light horror entertainment with some winks and nudges, there's plenty to enjoy.
