What started as a spiritual successor to the Thermae Romae series becomes a more traditional movie about making movies. That was a small disappointment, as I lack the love of nostalgia to fully appreciate these types of films. Still, there is some likeable quirkiness present, as some fun cameos for those in the know. The first third of the film is by far the most creative. Once the film settles into the movie-making narrative, things settle down, and it becomes a more straightforward experience. The performances are decent, and the runtime is fair. I just wish they'd stuck with the more entertaining premise. Read all
