A simple but fun and effective Happy Madison production that harks back to the old success formula. A bunch of familiar comedians, a tropical location, a bit of romance and tons of silliness. Nothing too heavy-handed or serious, just 90 minutes of light entertainment, perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Very basic comedy, but that's exactly what makes it bearable. David Spade is fully commited to his loser dad persona, Nat Faxon is clearly an Ed Helms replacement but does well considering. The fact that the final 30 minutes don't switch to drama is a real plus, all in all pretty decent filler.

A simple Happy Madison action comedy, based around Adam Devine's persona. That's all nice and dandy if you like Devine's comedy, but I have a little trouble with this actor. He's hardly ever funny and with him being in the frame for most of the movie, it started to get dire real fast. Luckily some of the secondary characters somewhat salvaged it for me. Devine sucks, but the rest of the cast is rather okay, though it's the minor roles (like Rooker, Lapkus, or Kind) who are the funniest of the bunch. There's a funny memorable Bond joke, apart from that it's a rather bland and predictable action comedy. Not the worst of its kind, but nothing I'll be remembering for long.Read all
