Burn Up!

A cute, little sci-fi actioner. It still surprises me how many of these action/sci-fi anime were made back then, and how many there are that I've never even heard of. It's cool though, these are easy-to-like films, which are short and action-packed, so they are easy to fit in whenever I feel the need.

McCoy is a hardened criminal. He owns a nightclub, which he uses as a front for kidnapping and slavery. A team of young police officers infiltrate the nightclub to get close to McCoy. When one of them gets kidnapped by McCoy, the rest will have to move fast if they want to save their colleague.

The cast is full of stereotypes, the mech designs are decent but nothing too original, and the bad guy is pretty standard. The action is fun though and the animation is pretty cool for a short OAV. If you don't care for this type of thing you can just ignore it, but for fans of the genre, this is pretty solid filler.
