A decent, but very clean and polished sci-fi film. Don't expect anything too grand or futuristic, this is near-future sci-fi about a new drug being tested on inmates. Modern interiors and a nonexistent drug are all you're getting here, but it's enough for an amusing film, just not one that'll leave a big impression. Hemsworth and Teller are decent picks, but not ideal for their parts. The film looks slick enough and the pacing is decent, there's just nothing that really stands out. It's one of those films that passes the time perfectly fine, without trying something new or exciting. Decent sci-fi filler in other words.Read all

Can you buy success? Looking at this film, I would say: yes, you can. It feels like some relic of the 90s. A 60+ year old man joins the F1 circus and becomes a hero. His love interest is about half his age, the story is as ridiculous as it is predictable, and the whole thing is funded by Apple and the F1 circus itself. Pitt is a terrible cast, I don't understand why a simple movie like this needed to last more than 2.5 hours, and knowing how everything will turn out kills the little tension present. If you're a fan of F1, the race scenes are spectacular, but other than that, this film has nothing to offer but poor taste and bad decisions.Read all

The newest Top Gun took 35 years to materialize, but apart from three of so smartphones it just as well could've been made the year after. If you like 80s action cinema and don't mind heavy nostalgia this film won't disappoint, if you're hoping for a modern upgrade, don't even bother with Maverick. Cheesy music, lots of references to the first film, tons of unearned sentiment, a sense of cool that hasn't evolved for 35 years, and some action scenes that may be quite practical in nature, but aren't that impressive to look at. It's a film that belongs to a bygone era, I just hope it doesn't start a new hype because this was pretty horrible.Read all
